Emergency Notification System
East Los Angeles College has put our students and employee’s safety as its utmost priority. We have deployed several emergency notification systems on campus to ensure the safety of our students and employees. First is our campus-wide speaker systems, speaker strobes, VoIP system, and our emergency text notification system. The first three systems are automatically integrated with the college infrastructure, and does not require any student or employee enrollment. However, the text messaging notification system requires all students and employees to enroll to receive text messaging in case of imminent danger. Get involved and register your cell phone number through Blackboard Connect to get the immediate text messages from our emergency response team in situations of imminent danger to you!
To register your cell phone number please email to the firstname.lastname@example.org.
ELAC has updated our text messaging system. All students and employees who are currently registered will automatically transition over to the new system. You will receive a text message to inform you about the new emergency text notification system.
This system will only be used to notify students via text messaging in situations of imminent danger, and potential instructions on what to do. (Active shooter, earthquakes, gas leaks, i.e.)
