There are many changes to the 2012-2013 financial aid regulations.
please follow these tips for a smoother application process.

Additional Documentation Maybe Required

• You may be asked to provide any of the followings:
  
  • Proof of receiving food stamp.
  • Amount of child supports you paid.
  • Copy of your driver license and come to the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office to complete an Educational Goal statement in person.
  • Copy of High School Diploma or Transcript.
  • Copy of IRS Transcript from the IRS office of the 2012 Federal Tax Return.
  • Complete the Verification form.

Tips for applying 2013-2014 FAFSA

To a avoid delay in the application process, following the tips below will help for a smoother transaction:

1. File yours and/or your parents' 2012 Federal tax return early.
2. When completing the FAFSA Application, utilization of the IRS data retrieval feature will help the verification of income processes.
3. If you file the FAFSA before you file the Federal Tax Return, you can request an ISIR correction by visiting the http://www.FAFSA.ed.gov site to retrieve your FAFSA data. Update the income information by selecting "IRS Data Retrieval" to retrieve income information directly from IRS and download the income tax data into your FAFSA application.
4. Complete your FAFSA before the March 2 priority and Cal Grant deadlines.
5. Log on to the LACCD site to complete the required on-line forms and to check your document status in order to expedite the campus application processes.

Important Information

• Pell Grant has a Life time limit of 12 full time semesters. It is best that you plan your goals wisely to maximize the usage of your financial aid funds to achieve your educational goal!

Remember, the priority processing deadline within the LACCD campuses is May 1, 2013. You must submit all of your documents before this date to receive your financial aid disbursement by the first week of fall 2013 term.
